Journalism is Our Craft
Our Philosophy
Our company is human-centric, promoting autonomy and a sense of initiative among our teams. Our journalists are encouraged to develop a know-how that emphasises their own individual analytical lenses, areas of expertise and networks of contacts. It is this plethora of perspectives that underpins the unparalleled richness and diversity of our publications.
We produce four publications, and each is an authoritative voice in its field. Africa Intelligence, Intelligence Online, La Lettre and Glitz.paris cover sectors in which information is difficult to access. Indeed, our goal is to gain entry to the innerworkings of systems of power, whether they be economic or political, to provide concrete value to our readers in the form of our exclusive, rigorous and unbiased journalism.
Though Indigo Publications is based in Paris, it has a fundamentally international outlook. Our editorial team is backed by a vast network of correspondents active in Africa, Europe, North America and Asia. Three of our publications – Africa Intelligence, Intelligence Online, and Glitz.paris – are published in both French and English, as our content is geared towards a truly global readership.
Our editorial independence is a result of our total financial independence. Indigo Publications was created by journalists and is entirely owned by its management and staff. Our company enjoys sustainable growth. We believe that free access to news is a myth, as producing quality journalism comes with an inevitable cost. What’s more, we refuse all advertising in our publications and do not offer any consultancy work. Our readers are our only clients.
Indigo Publications was a pioneering figure for online publications. We launched Intelligence Online—the digital version of the print newsletter Le Monde du Renseignement—in 1995. In the years since, all of our publications have transitioned to being 100% online. Our digitalisation process began as early as 1992, meaning our readers have access to over 40 years of archives.
Journalism is our raison d’être. Journalists are a vital element of any press group, but our IT, sales, and marketing teams are just as much the lifeblood of our company. We are a team above all else, in which autonomy, individual initiative and audacity are encouraged and celebrated.
